    North Wales tides — FAQ

Which North Wales towns have tide data?

We publish tide times for 12 towns: Abersoch, Amlwch, Barmouth, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Holyhead, Llandudno, Porthmadog, Prestatyn, Pwllheli, Rhos-on-Sea and Rhyl.

How often are the tide times updated?

The underlying predictions cover two years, so the page keeps working even without a live connection. The 'last updated' time on each town page shows when the data was last refreshed.

Are the times shown in GMT or BST?

All tide times are shown in UK local time — GMT in winter, BST in summer — so you don't need to convert them.

Can I use these tides for boating?

The predictions are accurate under normal conditions but don't account for wind, air pressure or storm surge. For anything safety-critical please use official Admiralty tide tables and a current marine forecast.
